Default Cool idea for starting the car!

Alright so theres a formula d drift car driver that has this named Matt Powers, and i think its awesome. Pretty much what it is is hes got his 97 240sx and hes got some crazy starter set up. He has it to where to start his car, he turns his key, then there are three switches (i would put them above my headunit in the double din holder its in) labeled blood, sex, rock and roll. Each one i assume starts something like probably fuel, electric, then ignition. I was wondering how difficult of a set up this would be because i think its an awesome idea. Any ideas? Btw after flipping the 3rd switch the car turns on

its not hard to do, all the switches are is for the ignition, fuel pump, ect that the key switches on already. I guess you could add the switches in case you do not want the fuel pump on or something but I really do not see the use of adding 3 steps to start your car and taking a couple hours wiring to do it?

Not sure what your wiring exp is but to do this you will need to cut into the main ignition hrns. IF you do not make a good connection or do it correctly the best case scenario is that the car will not start, worst case those are high current wires you are messing with so a fire is not out of the question as well.

I would assume a shop would charge a couple of hours labor and some minor parts but shouldn't cost much more then a couple hundred to have a pro do it.

Save yourself some trouble. Install the switches, with three different colored LEDs. Attach labels as desired. Just don't connect them to anything important. Well, OK, maybe one could turn on the radio.

That way when some hot babe you want to impress is in the car, you can flip the switches and impress her. When it's your mom or dad, you can ignore the switches and just start the car normally.

lol i think im going to look into pros doing it and if i did fake ones id make atleast the last one do something important just so it wouldnt start without it and people would think they all did stuff. I just thought it was a cool idea and original.

I am willing to bet they will quote you 3-4 hrs labor plus parts at 50-75$/hr. No offence but I think if you drill the holes to do this you will regret it later. It sounds like something neat right now but for the money you will be out, plus the holes you will have to put in the car and later cover up when selling(or loose money).

If you have the ashtray(I think you have cup holders) you could make a panel to fit in there to hold 3 switches like I did to control some accesories. I have been considering selling mine if you do have an ashtray, it allow the lid to still close so you can't see them and I even made some custom decals that I used as a mask for painting. If you can use it let me know and we can work something out. I thought I had a pic of it in my cardomain page but I don't

yeah the thing is i have an after market headunit already and i have about a 2"X8" black empty holder thingy above it that is for cds and stuff, i could just cut some matching colored plastic or vinyl to put over it and drill holes in that. nothing really hurting the car at all. i can even push the holder back a little so i dont even have to drill through that

You could pretty easily wire them all up to just the ignition. If you want multiple switches you could just have the ignition going through all three, so you have to flick them all to start the car.

As a side note I would definitely go with the flip up covered switches if you feel like doing this. I always wanted an excuse to have those in my car!
