This thread works for me I am currently going to use a RF P400.4 to push my inside (Kappa Perfect 100w rms @ 4 ohms). However, the Punch series only puts out 50w rms when wired at 4 ohms. Was looking to get this:

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...n_US&p_status=

as it matches 100w rms @ 4 ohms. However, I dont know anything about what Dynamic Power means

The stock amp does not run in a 4 Ohm or 2 Ohm configeration if I recall. Its some wierd **** Ohm rating which you would need to find some wierd Ohm rating sub.

And I have had them in the doors for two years now with many drunk passengers lol. They are pretty rock solid plastic. Not like cheap paper cones.

I want to say that the stock door "subs" are DVC, with both coils at 2 ohms. BTW, I just changed out the stock door speaker-ettes for some real speakers, in this case Infinity Kappas. Man, what a difference! I believe the Kappas actually put out more bass than the door "subs."

So how do you like 'em?

I had to re-open the passenger side door panel and nail things down a little tighter due to a light buzzy-rattle thing. I ended up putting some squishy tape around the speaker and using a wire tie to hold the crossover box to the door frame. I also put a little Raam mat around the speaker in a couple places.

Yeah, I should probably do all that on the driver's side too. But I'm really freakin' lazy, so I'll wait until the driver's side starts to rattle.

But I really like the sound. I think they put out better bass than the factory subwoofers!

Mann, I have too much rattle to enjoy the bass :/ Been toying with the motion of ordering 100 sq ft of FatMat/SecondSkin and doing the whole car.

I also am pretty sure I want custom panels for the front, instead of the plastic/whatever it is.

Overall, they are pretty damn nice.

Part 2 - I ordered front kick panels for 6.5's (Get em tomorrow). I am really wanting to pair them with Alpine Type X PROs. However some have told me to spend a little more money and get a true midbass driver. No idea where to go lol. I am a man who loves the bass feel, if anyone says anything about subs, I swear to god!

they are SVC.. consider installing the kicker/Shelby door subs.. The price is right and the quality is high. For best results cut the stock door amps and pair the kicker subs with the Alpine mrp500. This amp performs best running 2 svc subs.

just an FYI on the cross overs in the doors. Many people do not know that water gets into their doors and I have seen many many diyers that just throw it in on the bottom of the door and that will make it start to rust/corrode and probably limit its use to a year or two. If you have to put it in the door be sure to mount it up higher. preferably on the inside of the vapor panel but behind the door panel.
