Default Deadmat questions.

Which is the "best" out there? Treo makes some now and it was way heavier then Dynamat's. IDK if way heavier makes it more effective??

Honestly the weight has very little to do with it. It depends on what the material is made out of and how well it can absorb sound. Also note that a lot of the no-name brands are made by the same name-brand companies. I would go with cheaper dynamat if I was you. Also remember the more you are going to Dynamat the more your car will weight. That stuff is not light. I noticed a small difference by doing a full trunk and door kit with performance.

Good to know, and ty for the input. I got a 97 convert an im completely upgrading the sound (Infinity Kappa perfect 6.1's in the back, Kappa 8x6 up front, RF punch 400x4). Figure im gonna need to dynamat all I can to get ready for a sub which im considering of going the costly approach and getting it customed somewhere inside. ALL while Im replacing the top, and trying to figure out why exactly 18x9's rub on my sway bar :P

I could not disagree more. If that were the case then just go to home depot and get some peel-n-seel and call it a day? There is a difference in the brands and they are not all made in the same place. I have had my hands on almost all the brands and the only one I will put in my car is second skin. They use better materials and thicker foil. If you had a piece of their damplifier pro as well as apiece of dynamat extreme you would see the difference. I already have my doors, floors and trunk done and I am about to do the sides behind the stock panels with some regular damplifier and the luxery liner and then I will be done with damping the car.

Ttoccs, I was thinking of going with FatMat's Mega Mat, can I use SecondSkin's Stage 2/3 on top of it?

Also, I turned up the bass on my amp a little, and my door rattles, like a ****, I notice when I hold certain area's down, it decreases a bit...problem with door panels or?

you could always stack it but there really isn't much use for two layers. The rattling door panels is exactly what damping is made for. IT will hold the door panel a little tighter and keep it from rattling.
