Default Help new HU and no sound 2000 v6

hi i have a 2000 v6 mustang and i am trying to install a alpine HU.

behind my radio i have one 8 pin one 6 pin and one power pin plug.
i have the cd player underneath with an amp under the cd player.
NO i do not have a MACH system.

i removed both the cd player and the original head unit.(they both worked perfectly before.)
i have installed the 8 pin and the power pin harness off my original head unit radio onto my new alpine radio. The HU turns on but no sound any ideas how i can fix this i've tried everything.
