Default OEM radios + iPod = I need help!

Ok so I just bought a 2011 Ford Mustang GT. It's not the premium version so I don't have the USB port in the center console. I want to connect and control my iPod to my factory radio. I bought an adapter system and had it professionally installed and the txt/dipslay function does not work. The installer told me everyone he has talked to says they don't have anything that will allow me to control my iPod from my radio for the 2011. Is this true? Does anyone have any suggestion on how I might be able do this? I would greatly appreciate any help bc not having this feautre is really putting a damp in the awesomeness of my new car

I'm in the same boat with the Boss 302 that comes with the base stereo. I am trying to add iPod control and Sirius...

See this from PAC audio. I searched on the 2011's, but the 12's are the same I believe. The Iphone/Ipod solution specifically would be the ISFD571.

I think crutchfield sells 'em if you want 'em from someone you KNOW will back the product.

Oh, and can I have your Boss 302? Purty please?

Yeah it looks like the only way around it is to not use the factory radio. The thing is I like my interior the way it is and tend to hate the way after market radios look because...well they usually look like they don't belong! Anyway, thanks for the input!
