07 radio glitch
A friend of mine has an 07 v-6 Mustang and the factory radio has an aux input for mp3 players and whatnot. Well, her father changed the battery the other day and for some reason, (the only i can muster is that he didnt want to loose radio settings) he changed the battery while the car was running.
Now, wether that's related or not, the aux function, as you scroll through the functions, no longer appears...
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Perhaps that first year (05-06 didn't have this) they did something different, but for mine for the whole like 2 days it stayed in my car you press the Aux button on the far right, done. There were no functions to go through.
The only thing I can think of is to reset the car by completely disconnecting the battery when the engine is off. You will lose radio presets, but everything should (key word) go back to normal.
Nowadays with the electronic equipment cars use to monitor engine systems and such, removing the battery with the engine running can cause voltage spikes which can cause damage to fragile/expensive electronic equipment like the PCM/radio, etc.

Unfortunately, tried this and it didn't work.
I seriously doubt that had anything to do with it:
a) They aren't that fragile.
b) You won't knock out a function of a radio from a spike. As you're stating it isn't even selectable anymore, yes?
c) If there was a spike with enough behind it to cause an issue, the radio would have far more fundamental issues/symptoms.
Wait, I miss-read that, we disconnected the battery and pulled the fuse for the radio for a few minutes but the car was off. If you disconnect the battery while the car is running, it will just run off the alternator right?
It will try to, yes. Perhaps I just don't know enough about the earlier units, but I'm not understanding the functions you're going though here.
And as I said, they aren't THAT fragile. Motor for the cd's are crap, but I've not heard of any that would drop something like this out and not have other more fundamental issues shown. So I'm just wondering if something obvious is being overlooked.
