Head unit recommendation
What's up guys, I plan on upgrading my interior within the next few weeks. What a very good touch screen gps/stero headset? I know pretty much nothing about sound systems but am leaning on the Metra replacement dash or Scosche.
There are a lot of good Nav/Stereo headunits out. You just have to pick the one that appeals to your taste. Pioneer, Clarion, Kenwood, Alpine, JVC and Sony have some real good headunits out right now. The Scosche kit might be released after the CES show, but the Metra kit is out now, with an updated version with a 4x6 touchscreen in the works. I have the Metra kit with a Pioneer X920BT headunit and it's awesome.

If your looking for a good double din navi unit, I would check into Alpine/Kenwood, from what i've read over on Avic411.com, the newer Pioneer units (anything after D series) has been lacking, & so has product support for bug fixes/updates from Pioneer. I have always been a Pioneer fan, & still like them for single din units, but there double din navi's are behind the time now.
Kenwood's include built in official licensed Tom-Tom GPS, which is pretty much the best GPS software out there IMO. Check around ebay for good deals. Slightly used/like new, & BNIB units can be had WELL under retail prices. I got my Avic D3 i've had for 2-3 years as a open box/like new item. Guy tried to do the bypass & fried the harness. I paid $300-$350 for the D3 & just bought a new harness & never had a peep of a problem out the unit & this is in a car in the south with well over 120F+ temps in the summer.
I'm looking to upgrade to something a little newer, probably a Kenwood offering.
