Default Amp Installation in Trunk

Hello I'm I'm installing an amp/sub-woofer in my trunk, I'm having trouble running the power cable from the battery to the trunk as I can not find a hole in the firewall. My mustang is an 06 v6, is there a hole already or am I going to have to make one and if so, where.

Is this not something you would want to pay to have done professionally? Only reason I ask is because I have some experience in doing this (I installed my own in my Ford Ranger) and an audio store is going to have the tools to do a cleaner job.

I plan on transferring my system from my truck to my mustang as well and will more than likely pay to have it done.

Also, do you have the stock system installed or an aftermarket deck?

I was not planning on doing it professionally before because I thought finding the hole in the firewall is simple enough. Besides the amp obviously everything is stock.

I believe there's a spot in the passenger floor area with a rubber gromet people normally use

So long as you take your time, you can do a near professional looking job. Just make sure youhide all the wires the most you can.

There should be a pretty massive rubber grommet in the passenger floorboard for the stock wiring. Make a slit on either side of the main wire loom & route your wire next to it. Then behind the front right tire, take off the splash guard & you will see a small opening allowing you to route it right up next to the battery.

You should be able to hide wires easily in this car. I just redid my whole setup in my 08 GT & was able to run 2 separate runs of 0 gauge wire w/o any problems at all. 2 massive 0 gauge runs are completely hidden.

as others have said i think theres a spot on the passenger side...mine lookes like it goes thru the firewall somewhere just below glovebox level. the cable was installed by a previous owner so im not sure if they used a stock location or drilled it...i just know i still have the red power cable running from battery to truck....its disconnected of course.

Here you go. A pic from my install with two 0 gauge power wire runs. Either side is fine to run it on.
