Default 06 Mustang audio questions

Hey guys been looking around the forum couldn't really find the answers so here goes..

I currently have the avh-p3200bt installed in my car replacing the old shaker 500 one.
I am looking to upgrade and want some more bass and better sound quality. I talked to the installer where I work and he said that I would have to run all new wire where my car is "preamped." I just want to know if he is full of it or if it's the truth.

Well if that's the case then what would you suggest? (subs, amp, speakers)
Looking to get the best bang for the buck (as is everyone) so anything would help. Also looking to see if anyone has something similar installed so I could see finished work. I like the idea of keeping it looking clean while also keeping my trunk free so I can get some things in there.

Thanks

Cam

Full of it for the 4 normal speakers. Should you wish to replace the 2 8' door "subs", THOSE have a factory crappy amp running them. Depending on the wattage, you will likely still be able to use the factory wiring, but I can't see how it would be worth it, as you'd likely have to bypass the factory amp, then extend the wiring to where you mount the replacement amp anyhow. To top it off, even shallow mount 8' subs will still likely require a custom spacer ring to fit right in the doors.

There are a lot of threads on the subject, and a few have posted pics of their final setup, including replacing the door subs with after-market shallow mount subs. I have no real recommendation as to which of the hundreds of combinations you could go with.

Thanks man I'll look around some more. I thought he might have been full of it. I think I might just replace all the speakers with some pioneers and throw a amp in to replace what I have

I show how to put a deck with sub out into the mach system on page 2 of my cardomain page, ride 2395420. No need to replace anything.

What you would probably be best doing is just adding a small sub to suppliment the stock system.

I don't have a roof on my car, so I'm sure that limits the impact of a sub in the trunk. It also may have been the crappy pre-fab plastic box from Subthump too (that will be getting replaced with a Kicker CVX 12" in a real MDF box this spring). I went with Kicker CVT 8s in the doors connected to the sub channel on my 5ch amp. I have a different amp for the sub in my trunk. I will say that the 8s sound REALLY good and if I were you I would definitely upgrade them. I lost my install pics back when my iPhone was stolen after the install , but I can get some pics of the finished product if you want.

How about that? It still leaves you most of the trunk to use.

I. Would thing running new wires for the door subs would be best/easiest. It's required unless you want to use the crappy factory amps. I mean you could use them, but make sure you match your speakers with the rating on the factory amp. For me it was easier to snake the wire into the door and then back to my amp.

there is no factory amp for the door speakers, just the door sub. so if you arent amping your door speakers you can just bolt a coaxial in and either keep stock hu or swap it
