Default New Push Button Start Install

Hi Guys,
Thought you might like to see the new 2Go Keyless system I just finished installing on my 2010 GT its sweet!
The Push Button Start switch in my dash came out real nice, I did the install myself.
I walk up, my doors automatically unlock and the Start Button lights up, cool huh?
I just push of the Start button and my engine roars! It’s bad ***!
As I get out and walk away everything automatically locks up.

I got it from www.digitalguarddawg.com and I’m really happy with the system and the tech guy at Digital Guard Dawg was real helpful.

never heard of that brand after being in the car audio install game for 15+ yrs now. Hope it is a reputable brand but there are sooo many fly by night alarm companies I would have to wait to hear how it really is.

Not exactly fly by night, about as reputable as you can get from the one big name that practically owns all the rest now anyhow due to buying their competition out.

Few others here have done it, but seems (for obvious reasons) to be more popular on the more luxury model types.

Wow thanks for all the cool comments. Yea I'm really stoked with the way it
came out. It was easier then I though. And its not JUST a push button
start,It's a keyless ignition and it automatically opens my door locks and
it has a full alarm and it has remote start included to! I just have to have
the transmitter thingy with me (they call it an IKEY) heres a pic. The IKEY
thing is real flat and would fit in a wallet if you wanted. I keep mine in
my jeans watch pocket.

All I do is walk up and my doors unlock and the alarm disarms. That's when
the start button lights up. I have to put my foot on the brake before I push
the button to start, but if I want just turn on just my radio and
accessories I push the button without pushing the brake down.
I've installed alarms before and this was basically the same kind of
install. The only kinda new thing was dealing with the steering column lock
and bypassing the factory security that's the chip in the key head thing. I
did what the guy I bought it from at Digital Guard Dawg called a Cut Key
Method. At first I wasn't real sure about handling the lock there way but
after I thought about it it made sense and was easy and worked fine. All I
did was cut off the head of my spare key, then I put the blade of the key in
the lock and released the lock, The wires to the key switch all connected to
the systems module, so there was like no power still going to the key switch
anyways, so I figured it didn't really matter if I cut key in the lock cuse
all it was was a mechanical lock left and no one would be able to start the
car with out the transmitter.

To bypass the factory chip in the key I zip tied the head of the key behind
the lock cylinder. The Guard dawg guy said I might need to use a bypass
module, like for a remote start but they suggested I try the zip tieing
approach first and it worked great. Like I said man I'm stoked! It works
just like those new Mercedes do. Oh yea, Guard dawg sent me a vynal cap that
went right over the old key switch hole so you don't even really notice the
old ignition. OK heres a pic of that to. See its sweet!
The guys at gard dawg were real helpful, They got some more info on there

wow.... well, honestly unfortunatly then by zip-tying your key into the car and the remote start you have made it much much easier for a thief to start/steal your car. Of all the methods available this is always knows as the last resort for any installer.

Hopefully you did a really really good job hiding all the wiring you did or it can also make it easier for a thief to now identify the critical wires needed to hotwire it. Any good thief that is worth his salt will know how to disable the siren and that normally doesn't take long. At that point your alarm module will be sitting there flashing the parking lights which uses relays that make noise and also makes it really easy to find the alarm module. Now he has nothing but time but will not need it since all he needs to do is connect 4 wires(again that your alarm/rs highlight(red, purple, pink, and yellow to start I think it was)) and he will be gone in probably less then 60 secs....

I would really recomend spending the money on the module if I were you. Its not fool-proof either but it is at least one more hurdle that he would have to clear, that you hve just laying on the ground right now.

Wow that looks really cool! I've mulled for a long time about installing a push-button start, but never could just get myself to make the investment into something like that. I can't see myself slicing into my dash like that either. I'd give up the 12v port in between the center vents to put that in it's spot somehow IMO.
