Default Cannot figure out what this plug is for

Hey everyone, I have a 2007 Mustang that spent it's first 10,000 miles at rental car company, and after I had already got it I realized that there was no TCS switch! (i wonder why? hahahaha) I had no clue there would be differences for a purpose-made rental car.

I disassembled my center console piece just to confirm that if i did find the button at a junk yard or something that the wiring harness would allow for it, and it will! But it also gave me an interesting idea for a mod, if i can figure out what exactly a certain wire is used for.

If you look right here on this link at page 3 at the very top, you see his hand is covering up the 3rd plug at the top (at the far left). That set of wires plug into just a piece of plastic, there isn't any buttons there.

I looked through my shop manual and couldn't find anything on it. What is that clip used for? I imagine it's not vital to anything see as it's not plugged into anything, but I am still very curious

Any help is appreciated!

edit- forgot my mod idea! You can remove the fake buttons on the left and replace them with the same as the TCS/hazard button assembly. I'm considering using the button assembly i remove from the right side, and possibly using the middle button as an engine start button. It's just an idea I'm toying around with though.

If your talking about the 3 spots to the left of the 12v socket.
In my car it has buttons there to change the small screen in the tach. Reads odometer, gas used. Etc etc.
Info, setup, reset are the buttons that go there

I'm assuming that's for the nicer GT speedometer only?

oh wow. that white looks AWESOME.
thanks for the picture!

Is there any way to use the mycolor feature like that without the upgraded speedometer?
Would i be able to if i just got those buttons?

I kind of have a secret project going on that's going to force me to change my gauges, so it seems counterproductive to buy the upgraded one just to take it out this fall.

No. It's for the 6-guage mycolor cluster only.

ah, that really sucks. I suppose, unless I can find a way to use the 6 gauge cluster with the Ls1, Mycolor and I are just not meant to be.
