Alpine Headunit and Pac module problem

Alpine Headunit and Pac module problem
I have a 2007 mustang gt/cs. I had a audio place put subs and hook up my stereo. They used a pac module, and my front speakers had problems when I turned up the radio, they would cut in and out. I read in another thread that I need to purchase an inline diode. Does anyone know anymore about this. Also the sub rca cables on the Pac unit are purple and green. Does it matter if which one I put with red or white?
Thanks for any help.

Is the radio shutting off or just the audio?
as for the diode, the factory amp has a protection circuit. When the volume reaches a certain level it will feed back voltage and the PAC interface will shut dow and reset.

PAC CDR-FRD1 is what should be there.
Instructions
Diode fix, should it be required.

I didn't explain it very well, but the information you provided is very helpful. I ordered the diode. I have aftermarket subs in my trunk, and they are on the sub outputs of the radio. My radio has the front and rear rca outputs available still. The color of the 8 pin RCA cables with the Pac unit are purple and green, and you said I only hook one of those up since i have the shaker 500 system. Also does it matter if i connect it to the red or white rca that comes out of the alpine head unit. I hope I made some sort of sense in what I said.

The PAC unit itself would momentarily lose power, which should cause your whole unit to cut out were it the feedback issue as Iskwezm indicated, that requires that diode fix. Unless they gave the head-unit itself power (turn-on and constant) from elsewhere.
I believe I might have the gist of your layout now. Have you tried leaving the after-markets unplugged? My guess with what you've stated so far is that you're now using the same circuit for the after-market subs and the factory, the impedance is too low, causing it(factory amp) to cut out.

Glad you came back to update, be surprised how many just get their shiznat fixed and never return.
Odd that it would solve it without the head-unit cutting off as well. I'm going to assume they ran a new direct constant line, and either did the same for the delayed accessory line (which seems silly) or the PAC unit simply didn't cut out long enough for the head-unit to actually trigger a shut-down.

Now, I have another problem. My driver side speaker will play for about 5 minutes depending, and then it will quit working. It won't come back on till I shut off the car and turn it back on. The passenger side however seems to work fine still.
