push start button: how do i wire it so the LED turns off?

Not feasibly with what this uses. The higher end push-button starters use their own microcontroller(s) to handle the majority of the logic.

You could add logic, but that would cost you more than this cost you to start with.

Would it be possible to wire in a toggle switch like this?


I could flip it to cut power to the push start button? I could hide that somewhere pretty easily.

Not really...but it seems I'll need that to turn off the light. If I don't fork out the money to pay for the expensive toys I need to take a hit somewhere.

If you're just going to turn it off after it starts, why not just wire the light so it's tied to the cranking? Not quite what you're after, so part of a cool factor hit, but IMO, still better than having to mount/use another switch to control it.

If it's tied to the cranking it wouldn't light up prior to the cranking, right? If it only lights for 3 seconds while I'm cranking it's pointless to even light up at all. I'd like it to be lit when I get in the car and turn the accessories on, like it's waiting for me to push it. Lol
