Default Radio problems, need help/advice!

i just currently bought a 96 mustang convertible. the owner told me the radio would cut in and out, but i found it would work fine the majority of the time. but recently it just stopped working the past few days, usually if it cut out itd come on the next time i started the car. Its a JVC KDS570 radio, i pulled it out and all cords looked fine. anyone have an idea what the problem could be? or how to fix. and if its not worth the fix maybe a good alternative radio i could install that isnt too expensive. Only thing i would want out of the radio would be a cd player. Thanks in advance.

Is the sound cutting out or the power? Is it conected to the mach 460 amps? if it's just the sound, it could be that the amp(s) are going bad.

Idk if its the power or not. the screen on face plate goes blank but the power button red light is still on. i tried reseting to at least get my cd out but now it wont eject either. It turns on says CD then Play then Eject then it goes blank and shuts off. I took it out and all the wires seem fine, i am perplexed and usually am good with electronics or at least finding a solution.
