Dash kit needed for new head unit???
Hey everyone im new to the forum and new to cars in fact. i have a kenwood ddx419 that i plan to install in my 2014 mustang. now do i absolutely NEED a dash kit like a metra or scosche etc, or can i just install the head unit right in after taking the factory dash out?

yes, you need some sort of kit/bezel. you're gonna have to replace a bunch of stuff. all of the buttons on the factory center stack (radio and climate control) are on one module (the FCIM), the factory display (FDIM) is another module, and the radio actually sits behind the bezel and is just a blank silver box. You're going to need something like this:

note: I don't know anything about that kit and this does not mean I am recommending it.
