Default 2013 GT AM/FM/Sync without Navigation Replacement

I need to swap out the big am/fm/sync module. The junk yard has the same model as mine (exactly) but the guy on the phone thought maybe there was a reset code that needed to be applied. The dealer service mechanic said "we don't do that we have guys that come in and swap out that stuff, I never heard of a reset code" . Now I'm afraid I'm gonna waste my time (2 hour round trip to get the part) so I'd like to make sure I can just swap it out. It's surprisingly easy to pop out the radio, so that was nice though . I'm not really interested in aftermarket radios, I'm perfectly happy with the current setup. Has anyone else done this swap in a 2013 GT without Nav ? Did you need to have the dealer/radio shop do any reprogramming or code reset? Thanks a lot! Symptom are just "the clock blinks and radio controls do nothing, but CD will still load CD's"
