wire for video screen to work while driving
does anyone know what wire to tap into to bypass the parking break ON signal it needs to recieve? I'd like to have the option to have it play movies for passengers while driving.
I figured it out. I dvom'd the circuit and it's just a ground when the handle is pulled up. it works now with the parking break down. now I just have to wait for the 460 adapter from crutchfield to hook up the audio.
1 question..
I spliced all the wires together manually and cut off the connector to the factory radio w/ the 8 speaker wires and saw a non-insulated wire in there with them. Does this wire need to be grounded?

Your unit shouldn't hit on your shifter unless you made it longer. If it's a Pioneer, Sony or JVC, theres a pastel green wire you simply need to separatly ground that out. If it's a Sony, there should also be a pastel purple one, that you can simply cap it off. Theres a Scosche piece you can get at almost any place that sells car products. If theres not a Scosche dealer in your area, im sure they have one that is similiar. Ask them to look at it and it should look like This That piece is of course for a deck that has front and rear (optional sub) pre-outs. If you bought a fold out unit without those your an idiot.
460 systems in '00 and earlier models will work with no problems and actually sound good on any aftermarket radio.
460 systems in '01 and later model, IMO, change the whole system out along with the radio. I have never heard an integrated system sound good in one of those cars, and I run a car audio shop. But then, maybe I'm picky.
