I recently got a memphis and its incredibly. I also run Eclipse and very happy with them. Just stay away from jenson, kraco, sony, pioneer, and anything that cost 20 bucks for 50,000 watts. All opinion of course-Shane

Eclipse is definately not a bad choice. I've never used Memphis, but I've never heard anything good about their products.

Look for something in the 800 watt range. I recently posted my "review" of Type S vs. Type R you might want to read. It's on a recent post somewhere.

i am running two alpine type-R 10's with (1) class D mono-channel alpine 1200watt amp. my subs are 4 ohms each so i wired them down to 2 ohms and ran both subs to the one channel. it sounds bad *** and that one amp is plenty of power for the type-R's...with the subs RMS at 300watts each and the amp peaking at 600watts at 2ohms, it is ideal conditions for those subs.

I am also running a memphis amp no real problems with it except my gain **** is broken and i am still debating on if i want to send it in or not. And i dont want to buy another one because the amp is worth alot even though it is kind of old.

The GT has this stereo now but I recently took out the Memphis and 12" audiobahns. I have to get a new box so it fits better.

exactly how long have you had those alpine subs? typee r"s are dual vc's and most are dual 4 ohm meaning you only have two wiring options(well 3 if count 16 ohms) 4 ohms or 1 ohm. And just for informational purposes..mono amps do not have "channels" hence the word mono. They are actually,in simple words, internally bridged into one channel. there are actually two sets of connections simply to make your wiring options easier . to have actual channels would mean that you have a stereo signal, meaning a left and right channel, and mono amps by design are incapable of producing stereo sound.

I don't know if you read exactly what I typed in the post you originally asked this question but I would reccomend the Alpine M1005. Go back and check the rest of what i type if you want to know my reasoning.
