Should be able to remove the metal housing and get it out. What exactly is it doing?

it is doing everything perfect, except when you try to eject the cd, it sounds like it is ejecting and doesn't

Well mine was doing the same, basically what it is is that the cd player chassis is out of alignment. not much you can do about it but have it sent to a service department. it will cost you about $75 to have them realign it or almost 4 times as much if they need to replace it. Unless this is a top of the line unit, which if you bought it from CC I can certainly say it's not. Just buy a new one. And this time go to a better retailer and when they mention the extended warranty consider it this time. That is of course if you purchase a unit over $250, anything bought for less than that i see no reason to assume it would function problem free for more than 2 years.

My cd player was doing the exact thing so I tore it out and bought one from ebay to replace it and it turns out that had the same problem, so I threw both out and installed an aftermarket player, haven't had a problem since and my sound system sounds so much better.

Yes, the 6 cd Mach unit is known to stick. It seems to do it when it's hotter. On mine, when it sticks, I insert a little knife blade on lightly press down on the top of the stuck cd. It usually spits it out. But if you wait too long, you'll get a 'cd error' message, and then you'll have to try to pull it out, manually. A skinny pair of tweezers will accomplish this. When I fist bought my 01, Ford put 3 new units in to no avail. After the final swap it was better. But it still occurs from time to time. Ever notice how hot the ejected cd's can be? My theory is the heat slightly warps the plastic, and causes the tolerances to diminish, in turn causing sticking issues.
