Possible Aux Input?
I have a 97 mustang and i have been searching everywhere trying to find an adapter or something to plug my mp3 player into my factory stereo system. I have the system that has the reciever on top with the cassete player and the cd player below it. I currently have a wired fm modulator from scosche and i wanted to have a direct wired connection that would give the best possible sound quality. I have figured out that since the cd player is seperate from the reciever there must be an audio signal being passed from the cd player to the reciever, someone correct me if im wrong in thinking this, but i also know that there are the left and right channel wires that come out of the cd player and into the reciever. My question is, is it possible to splice these wires and wire my mp3 player to them so that they would go straight into the reciever and play over the stereo system? Also if this is possible how would I go about making it switchable between the mp3 player and cd player because i would most likely have four wires (two for the right channel and two for the left). If anyone has tried this or knows anything about it i would be very greatful of any help. thank you
If you are "looking for the best possible sound quality" than using your stock head unit is not the way. Honestly it would take you more time and frustration to get that thing in there and working, even if it will (which I doubt would). Your alot better off taking a couple hundred bucks and buying a cd player and the parts to put a new headunit into the car. Sorry you didn't have any replies this is the first time I seen this post.
I got it all done already now i just put in a pioneer head unit a few days ago and it works great thx for replying n sry bout the attitude i was frustrated cause i wanted music in my car haha n i can definatly tell that even the cd's sound much better with the new headunit than they did with the factory unit.
