pretty much a capacitor is a waste of money i would get a better battery like a stinger,odyssey,northstar,kintiek, they are drycell batts and they have more reserve capacity charge quicker than normal batts "wet and gel cell".i would suggest getting a better alternator like a ohio generator or a stinger

Capacitors arent a waste of money, they give you better/quicker bass response from your amp.... its ideal to have a cap, optima battery and a bigger alternator....

 

caps suck if you listen heavy bass because it has no reserve capacity once you play your music drain the cap witch isnt hard your wasting all of the voltage to try to charge up the cap when it should be going amps.a cap is more of a band aid then anything.i build compeition cars and you harldy see a cap in their cars .

 

Well, a cap, alternator and a better battery is a must for a quality souund system....

waiting on a nice warm sunny day........................throw in my kick panels and MB Quart tweets glassed in the a-pillars plus optima yellow top, HO Alt, 2/0 ga wire, Big 3 wiring kit. Thats my 15" XXX, Alpine CDM-7871, Autotek mean machine 100.4, Autotek mean machine 1400.1, and my CDT Audio EF51neo's also toss in my memphis active crossover

 

+1 if you put a better alternator and a bigger DEEP CYCLE Battery you will have more power then any system need. also it does still take power from the car to charge the cap and power the amp. the cap just hold a charge and once you turn on the sysem it going to start pulling from the battery to keep it charge which ruins the point of paying $200 for something that does so little.

It also helps to upgrade your electrical wiring. if you upgrade your battery and alt and leave the stock wiring then you are still limiting the amount of juice you can pull and could even cause a fire. The big three is an outstanding upgrade for high power stereo systems. This consists of a battery to alt connection, a battery to ground connection and chassis. to block connection. i use 2/0 ga and threw a fuse in-between the battery and alt. also.
