Default Chapter Anniversary Celebration?

This thought popped into my head today, we are approaching our one year anniversary.

The club actually started last March (forum wise) but I think we should set our official anniversary as the date of our first Meet-N'-Greet, which was June 25, 2011.

Any objections to this? I'm also not sure what we should do. I was thinking a cookout possibly? And given that this won't fall on a weekend every year (obviously), is this something we should move to the closest weekend?

If anyone has any good ideas for something to start to celebrate this day, please let me know! Just thought it'd be cool to remember the day that this great chapter got started for real!

I vote closest weekend. Guess I may be doing events back to back afterall. As far a cookouts that would be great. Just have to find somewhere with enough parking.

I'm good with the closets weekend. This is also something that would have to be thought about in advance. (Just to ensure we don't overload that month) Also with that in mind I think it should be moved to different locations so the same members don't make the long trip every year.

Oh I agree. It's just something that I thought of last night, and it is short notice for this year. I don't really think we can overload on events since we don't require attendance though. I know we try hard to make everything, but if we get to having something every weekend and we have to pick and choose, I'd see that as a good thing. That way those that have conflicts certain weeks have other opportunities.

What if we made the 16th our anniversary GTG? We have something planned, car show, food. Could that work?

I like it, and Greensboro is centrally located for the majority (lets face it, SC members are the minority here for some reason) so it works for short notice.

I don't know if I'll make that but it sounds like a plan. I may be at the beach.
