WANTED 289 block or engine
Looking for a C5AE.C5OE or C5ZEblock with date code 5-K-xx (oct) or 5-L-xx (nov). 289. Please ck your stuff. Casting code is found on passenger side rear of block just above the pan rail. Date code is found just above the casting code. Thanks for looking

Have a C5AE-E; May '65 casting, original bore, complete (air cleaner to pan w/ ex manifolds, distributor,w/pmp etc attached) Ran good when removed. Yours for $600 + ship fr Canada. Freight could hurt. Contact me direct djjsc(at)juno(dot)com
The A in the castingcode means it was designated for the Galaxie line but in reality they went into everything as the demand at the assembly linedictated. Correct for Mustang /Fairlane/Galaxie.

The "A" in the cast # actually means the part was originally designed for the Galaxie, or to be more accurate, the full size Ford (Custom, Galaxie, LTD). In this caseyou could find a C5AE engine block in any Ford vehicle that offered the 289. A C5AE would even be correct for a 289 HiPo offered only in the Mustang; the block itself is identical in every detail. And yes, mine is fr a Mustang, although not a HiPo.
