Default '67 mustang

i am thinking about buying a '67 mustang convertible ,the front frame rails have been cut off at the firewall and will need to be replaced and the rear frame rails will probably either need to be replaced or patched , can anyone tell me if this is something i could do or would i have to have a professional shop do it ?

What you've got is a mustang that has been 'clipped'.... typical replacement technique back in the early days. The entire front end would be cut at the framerails and a new front sectioned on.

It's possible to do, but you need to know the exact measurements to locate the replacement clip, and a way to spacially hold everything when welding. Professional shops have alignment tables to hold the parts in place during welding.
