Default Door Hinge Spring Replacement Tip

Hey all,
I just wanted to post this because I have a feeling a lot of people have trouble and could use some advice about replacing these. I myself wrestled with it a bit before finding a method that gets the job done.
This is what worked like a charm for me:
String a ziptie through the spring and out the side just before the opposite end. Place the spring in a vice and slowly compress it while periodically pulling out the slack in the ziptie from inside the spring. BE CAREFUL AND PROTECT YOUR EYES!!!!! Once the spring is compressed, tighten the ziptie to hold the spring in the compressed state. Double-sided zipties are best for this. Repeat the procedure with one more ziptie on the other side of the spring to avoid the C-shape with one side tied and one free. You should be able to slip one end onto the hinge bracket and use needle-nose pliers to push the other side onto the door's socket(for lack of a better term). Once the spring is in place, just cut the zipties, pull 'em out and there you go! Bob's yer uncle!

These spring can wildly shoot off in unpredictable directions if they escape whatever clamp/vise you're using, so always wear proper protective equipment so you don't lose an eye or worse.

Good luck!
