Hood pins
I have a '69 coupe with a mach 1 hood. It is factory drilled for hood pins. What is the cleanest way to install the plate onto the hood. I was thinking pop rivets. Also how do you find out where to drill the core support for the pin holes. Do you just close the hood and use the hood hole as a guide? Also I have seen the lanyards mounted in different places. What I am looking for is how the factory did it.
Thanks

If I read that right....this is not a stock hood. If you make sure it is lined up with fenders and cowl, then, yes close hood and mark core. Plates are attached with screws....that's all I got for now.
Oh...there should be a hole in the core for the lanyard.

I have the same hood on a 69 coupe.

You may not want to rivet the bezels (they were designed with screws), since they will need to come off for paint. Also, screws are more watertight. Good luck.

Yes I believe the bezel is supposed to be secured using screws. I thought that was a sure thing until my dad and I noticed his 428cj car has his bezels riveted in... and it looks like it could be a factory job (but probably not). My car has a plate on the top side of the hood and also a plate on the bottom side that the screws go into. If you like everything up you can use a hood as a template, with the size of the hole you are supposed to use there is probably about a 1/4" adjustment or more in all directions to get it lined up perfectly. The pin is secured with two large bolts and washers each.
