Starting issues?
Ok so when i start up my car for the first time of the day she fires right up, but say i go to walmart go in and come back out she just wants to turn over and over and over with out a spark and i have to put alot of pedal into it which is flooding it then smoke comes out the back when she finally fires. I currently have a whole new electronic ignition, new high power coil and 8mm ignition wires. just for info.
Yea well its been like this since around april so yea i never thought of the heat im ,17 im not fully knowledge able on these cars yet., so wat do u mean my the gas is boiling over?
Well it could be one of two problems and if you say it doesn't have any spark like it just doesn't want to turn over I would say that possibly your starter is getting heat soaked. Is your starter near a set of headers?
For this problem which I did not have so much a high torque mini starter is recommended. It requires less amps to crank and is small and lightweight which keeps it not practically rubbing the header.
The other option which is what I experienced is that it would be very hard to start my car after driving to the start my car on a hot day after going to the store. I would have to hold my foot on the gas while turning the key and when it finally got started I would have to keep the rpms up and when going into gear had to keep on the gas for it to stay alive.
This was the fuel boiling over in the carb because the manifold got it so hot and a carb spacer solved this problem.
I'm thinking your problem is #2 since you have to flood it to get it to finally start. What kind of carb and engine you got? If its an edelbrock then I would say even more this is your problem.

its the 289 with some minor work done to it i dont excatly know whats been done to it before i got it, and i dont have headers on it its the original exhaust manifold, and its the original 2 bbl carb.
What exactly is your process when you come out of walmart? Do you get in and give it 2 or 3 pumps and hold the pedal down some or what? Once it is warmed up, you should only need to give it a half? pump...if anything for it to start. Maybe once it's warm, just turn the key without giving it any gas and see what happens.
When i come out i usually try and just start it with out having to gas it, but then it just turns and turns like its not even gonna start so that when i have to try and flutter it and u can hear it make the sound like its gonna fire up after i flutter it.
