Your exhaust terminates under the car in front of the rear axle?
Yeah...that's a good guess.
Also plug up any holes coming into the cabin from the engine bay. That'll cure a lot of ills there too.

I'd run tail pipes out to the rear with turn downs at the valance to get the exhaust out from under the car.
The hood to cowl seal is also a good place to start.
Also look to see if there are any places on the firewall that aren't sealed up. You can do this by placing a work light inside the car in the dark and look around for light showing through.
