You don't have to explain, I had a 67 Fastback GT and mine had the tie downs as well, They will come loose just need a long pull bar...

My car is also only about 15 inches or so off the ground and laying under it is hard enough, getting a huge wrench wont work. The bolt spins in its hole, cant get leverage on it. Im thinking of pulling a big wrench on the head and turning the bolt till the wrench almost hits the trunk floor paneling. Then put a 2x4 chunk inbetween them to spread out the pressure and prevent the floor from denting in. Then take another huge wrench to the other side and PULL. Course im laying on my back so i cant get any leverage on it. I need to get pics up. I wanted to get a impact wrench in there but I have 1 inch of clearence by the nut and maybe 3 by the head.

lol yes that would work too but I wish the nut wasnt flush to the frame so I only had to cut threw the bolt itself and not the nut and bolt...It would still be hard for the saw in the tight squeeze...

This may sound strange, but those tie-downs are collector items. It is a rare thing to find them still attached to the car, since the dealership is required to remove them once the car reaches their company. Can you somehow get a nut buster on the nut?

u def need to get that bracket off if u ever plan on puttin dual exhuast onto the car. I also want to let u know i feel your pain on the bolt from hell topic i had one of my own on my powersteering pump bracket, someone told me to heat it up and spray it down with wd or liquid wrench and let it sit that way the when it cools it pulls the wd up into the bolt. It worked for me and ive never thrown a bolt that far in my life

I know exactly what you mean about throwing that friggin bolt as far as you can. I had that bolt from hell when I replaced the rear leaf springs. My sawzall took a beating that day.....so did I. As far as the rarity of the part, put it on E-bay for a low bid of 200 bux and see what you get. Purists are nuts about those things. Here is my bolt from hell, and I hope I never see that S.O.B. ever again.
