wd-40 isnt much better than water, get something like PB blaster, liquid wrench or gibbs pentrating oil

Agreed. WD-40 is a quick fix for squeaky things, but dries up in a few days. I sure wish I had stock in WD-40 though.

My buddy actually has a plasma cutter but my 67 cant leave my house so that makes it difficult. Wouldnt making a bolt hot and then spray it with wd40 cause a fireball? I dont want any fire when my face if inches away!

Heres a pic of the bracket and bolts. This photo is decisiving. It looks like there is plenty of room, but the gas tank lip is one inch in front of the nut and only looks open because of my angle...
