Hey Iskwezm, what all has he done to that 289?
its a 11:1, stock crank,rods,AFR heads(205 i think)and a 256*, .560 lift cam.

Yes whats in it But how much Torque do u need to raise it up on take off????
lifting the front wheels means nothing...i have plenty of friends with 10 second cars that dont lift the front end.

it is. Pretty much, nothing will be stock to have that kind of power in a 289. Prob bored 30 or 40 over. with huge heads, cam, stroker, intake, and carb. I dont think it's impossible, but it's nothing us kids can do with our little salaries.

its not hard to get power out of a 289, being bored over has nothing to do with making more power, its just cleaning up the cylinders to the next size to get rid of the taper,it barely increases the cubic inches. You dont need a stroker or huge heads.People have been getting power from porting the stock heads, adding 1.90/1.60 valves and matching all their parts. Too many kids go buy a cam or intake and expect to make big power when all their doing is mismatching parts.
