yeah, torque is what will lift the car off the ground. You'd need a big engine for that. and even if you get the bigger engine, your tires would probably just spin out, like they already do..........

Low gears are also recommended. You can run tires to hook up fairly decent, especially if you have a 67 and later mustang. The 65 and 66 have smaller wheel wells.

you dont need a "big engine", just a proberly built engine. My friend just finshed a 289 putting out 414 HP and 440 ft lbs, enough for a 11 second car with a good suspension

What is it that you want to do?
A serious wheel stander? (10 foot wheelies for a city block with sparks coming off your wheelie bars)
Or just to impress the babes at the local cruise?

For cheap, impress the babes…..You can take a stock 4V 289 (225hp) with 4:55 gears in the rear, soft rubber tires, a C-4 transmission with a 3,200 to 3,800 rpm stall torque converter, and weak (or shortened) springs in the front. This combo will let you do 3 foot wheelies for about 10 yards.

To just raise the front end a bit, get weak springs and shocks. A goose on the gas will pop the nose up.

For a serious wheel stander, add $10,000.

Cheers…..[sm=icon_cheers.gif]
