I"ll have to see if I can get a good picture to post here so you all can see it.
There isn't a bad spot on the car. You would be looking for months to find a rust spot.
I was thinking myself that 10K sounds a little low.

If the car is as you describe it, is really clean and relatively rust free, you are looking at a lot more than 10k there. Try Kelly Blue Book - they still do classics there and I think you will be surprised (a primo '65 fastback GT lists at 50k now!)
If salesmen depended on Kelley Blue Book to price their cars, they would go out of business. They come close to cars that are 10 years or newer, but don't have a clue regarding classics. You can only get what the market bears with classics. Price it high, then feel out the market. If you get no bites, then you can always lower the price. I wouldn't pay 50K for any classic Mustang. I don't care if it was built by Carroll Shelby or George Washington. It ain't worth it. It's just an old car built with old technology. If it can't be driven, it will not be in my garage. No, I don't go to museums and awe at old cars that have been put on ice.

I'm with ya Soaring. It amazes me to see these Shelby's on Ebay. There is a big part of me that is in awe of the nostalgia of owning one of these rare old cars created by a legend himself. But on the other hand, Shelbys are selling for 100k+. You can buy one hell of a Porsche for that money. Maybe a home in some areas. Again, I love the nostalgia, but pound for pound, a BRAND NEW TWIN TURBO Porsche handling, acceleration, sex appeal etc vs a 66 Mustang Shelby???? No comparison. Think about it, you still have the same issues with the Shelby even though it costs 100k+. Rusty floors, bad cowl design, smells like gas etc. 100k is insane!!!!!! Even the rusty Shelbys are selling for over 50k. Again, I love the Shelbys performance and nostalgia, but the prices are ridiculous.

I agree but it's not like the shelby is that person's only car. Everyone I've ever seen with a $100k+ car has another couple of crazy cars to go with it. Why would they care if it has rusty floors? They'll just leave the carpet in and let it sit in the garage. It's all about status

I am not a pretentious person at all. I am more on the practical side. Status won't get me from point A to point B. I like my old Mustang because I can work on it myself and make whatever changes I want to do without worrying about what someone else thinks. Yeah, for 100 grand, I can think of a Whole lot better performance cars than an old technology Mustang.
