Rear Shock Removal?
Okay, if grinding the stud will not work due to the lack of room to do so. Take you're socket and grind a flat on each side of the socket towards the top. Make it the size of a wrench and you can brake it lose that way.

It's a '65 coupe. Yes, the socket bottoms out on the stud before it reaches the nut.

what year car? if it's a 65-66, i know for a fact a wrench wont fit. So when you put the socket on the end of it, the stud comes through the socket hole???

yeah, grind the stud off, or stick the socket on there, and see if you can just slide the end of the rachet on allittle to turn it, unless the stud sticks out past the 3/8 square part.

This ended up working since i was only missing it by a hair with the socket. Thanks for the tip!
