Please Help!! Constant Volt. Regulator
OK guys. I am still searching to fix my stock gauges. I checked with a test light the power going to the stock gauges. Into the constant voltage regulator, steady hot. That seems good. On the other side of the regulator it flashes hot, like a turn signal. Funny thing is this flashing hot goes to the fuel gauge, which is the only one that works. The oil and temp both get the flashing hot signal as well. So is this correct?? Is that how a constant voltage reg. works? And if so and the gauges are getting the power, where do I go from here?
Check out FAQ for gauge fix...http://www.mustangandfords.com/techarticles/75259/
Might try replacing the instrument cluster regulator if it is the original one OR find a solid state regulator from parts place. OR make your own solid state regulator which will provide a more steady voltage to the gauges!! There are several sites which have the DIY instructions....google is your friend!!!

I had gauge problems too, went with a Dakota Digital Cluster, end of problems and it looks great!!

Yeah, that does look really good!! I ruled out the volt limiter and bypassed the pressure sensor, going to a constant ground, which made the gauges function. I have now decided it must be a faulty sensor. I wish there was a way to actually test function of the sensor itself so I could be 100% sure.
