Default tach problem

i recently hooked up a tach and when i tried to test it out it looked as if the needle moved in the wrong direction. one wire goes to ground one to a positive fuse one to a switched light source and one to positive coil. what could be a reason the tach sems to run backwards. im sure the ground and coil wires are hooked up right

Default RE: tach problem

Did the tach have a switch for 4, 6 or 8 cylinders?
