No really though.... like I said before it has crossed my mind to gold powder the center of those caps... actually he's giving me 2 sets of those exact caps with the wheels so... maybe I'll do one set.

So I got the email last night. He talked to UPS and the shipping on each rim was only $13.78!!

So with the hundred bucks for the rims... they'll be here on MONDAY at the grand total of $155.12 !!

Man... 155 bucks for 4 nice aluminum vintage wheels... and 4 extra center caps... with shipping.. I'm pretty happy.. uhhmm hmmmm UHHHH HMMMMMMM!!![sm=happy046.gif]

Now I just hope they clean up nice.. though they're really not that terrible looking as they are now.

Not sure about using oven cleaner on aluminum. I know when I was a kid we would spray oven cleaner on aluminum foil, wrap it into a ball and some really amazing chemical reaction would take place, lots of heat and hazardous gas with no aluminum left in a few minutes. We also made gunpowder from scratch for our own fireworks (guess they would be called pipe bombs today though). Anyway, just wanted to let you know taht oven cleaner can be pretty harsh on aluminum, would hate to hear you thrashed that incredible set of 155$ rims with a $3 can of Easy Off!
