Default Shipping on Rims...

So... looks like the guy I'm gonna buy the rims from is in Las Vegas.... to ship them by UPS ground to Oregon it's gonna cost around 20 bucks each. So about 80 bucks I think. That's just a guestimate from looking at a few different Ebay auctions.

The guy want's 100 bones for 4 wheels... pretty good shape... and 4 spare center caps. With 80 bucks for the shipping it seems like a decent deal for 180...

Is there anyway to ship cheaper you guys have found maybe?

Here's a pic of the wheels I'm getting

Considering the weight thats really about as cheap as you'll get without it taking forever to get to you.

Has anyone every had anything powder coated? How much does that run?

Oh... and whats the best way to clean aluminum? Someone said oven cleaner. Of course Soaring will say old man fashioned elbow greeze. heh... Not that I'm opposed to that either. Just wondering how to makem all shiny.

Oh and the reason I was asking about powder coating is... I'd like the rims to have that "gold" accent I thought was on these center caps... which someone kindly informed me was rust... heh.. so... no gold center caps... but maybe a powder coat on them would work. Though... I bet it's crazy expensive? Or would that even be the way to go?

Here's the look I was thinking of:

EDIT: Oh yeah... and how can that be rust if they're supposed to be aluminum? Maybe the center caps are iron?

I highly doubt that's rust...rust is kinda spotted and has a rough texture. Those are aluminum and it is a solid gold all the way around...and if you remember back to the original picture those were in, all the rims had gold centers!

Actually... that's the only one I've seen with the gold center... all other lacy spoke wheels from granada's and monarchs I've seen have the silver colored caps.... I've looked at a few... it's the only gold one. Oh and it was the only one on the car... the other one in the front I posted was a hub cap. So... I don't know.

I found a powder coating price list from a company in California.. here it is. I'm assuming it's the same everywhere or hopefully cheaper. California seems higher priced for everything. Have you seen the mustangs on craigslist that arn't even very nice going for 6-10k?

$180 is a bargain for those 4 wheels shipped to your house. Heck, I paid that much for one of my Mag 500's.
