Not sure about using oven cleaner on aluminum. I know when I was a kid we would spray oven cleaner on aluminum foil, wrap it into a ball and some really amazing chemical reaction would take place, lots of heat and hazardous gas with no aluminum left in a few minutes. We also made gunpowder from scratch for our own fireworks (guess they would be called pipe bombs today though). Anyway, just wanted to let you know taht oven cleaner can be pretty harsh on aluminum, would hate to hear you thrashed that incredible set of 155$ rims with a $3 can of Easy Off!

I would also not use anything that harsh. Like I said before....."elbow grease."
