my right door latch appears to be shot.....u have to jiggle the **** in order to make it unlock so u can open it........is it "rebuildable" or do i need to order a whole new thing...???

 

maybe u can bens the metal rod to take out some slack and grease thelatch good!

 

yeah im afraid to take the thing off though because i cant really see how it goes on....i might not be able to get it back on......

 

mine did the same i had to take off my door panel and see what was going on. one of the cotter pins that held a rod broke, took me a whole day to figure it out because the rod was in the hole but when i pushed the door latch it fell out. might as well take it off because you are going to have to anyways might as well try to play around with it

 

found some pretty cheap latches....

well how hard is it to remove the door latch?? do you have to remove the inner shell or outer skin?

 

well im assuming you have to take off the panel and reach your hand in there blindly and disconnect the wire things.....then unscrew it from the jamb side........easier to get out than back in it sounds like\.
