1973 351Q Code
Does anyone know if 1973 351Q codes came with Automatic trans, I thought they were all 4 speeds?
I was looking at this car on Ebay. Also I thought all 351Q codes had RAM AIR. I spoke with the owner and he swears it's an original Q.
What do you guys think?

As a proud owner of a 73 Q code , 4 speed Mach 1 I offer the following information as a cold hard fact.
There were 134,867 Mustangs built in 1973.
Of these, there were only 35,439 Mach 1's.
Of these , there were only 9,885 Q code 4 barrel cars.
Of these, there were only 3,316 equipped with a 4 speed transmission.
BUT... there were absolutely no factory Q code ram air equipped Mustangs in 1973. None, Zero , Zilch , Notta....... The ram air was available ONLY on the 351 Clevelands with 2 barrel carbs. The 4 barrels with ram air wouldn't pass emissions and were subsequently prohibited as a factory option.
By the way, if your car is red ... it's one of only 465. If it is red with white interior , one of 58 , with aluminum wheels ... one of 28 etc...
The photos below are of my car. I found an original ram air set-up from a 71 Boss 351 and installed it because I like them. It IS NOT factory correct for my car. The photo was taken during the installation. There are a few things you need to know before installing a ram air on a 73. It certainly is not a simple bolt on.
Hope this helps . Let me know if I can help you with any other details on the 73's. 479-263-3326 , Dean
