do i put back on the stock spring for the clutch or to i leave it off since im making it a cable clutch?

Yes the return spring, the huge spring that is attached to the pedal. I think that is the only spring on the pedal.

That spring has a dual function, it assists with pedal effort when pressing the clutch and helps the pedal return to the full up position. IMHO it is needed for stock clutches. I've read that it is not needed with diaphram style clutches like center force. So what type of clutch did you install?

I installed a firewall adjuster clutch quadrant in my nephew's 02 GT last week, and there is no spring with that kit. If that is what you are talking about, then no. The spring is not needed.
