its not even about wanting to replace the rusted out ones with new ones.....its a matter of there being no replacement metal for the fixing of the drip rails. no one makes replacement drip rails to weld back in so unless u can hand craft yourself some drip rails, good frigging luck lol.

yep, thats what i was planning on doing, but forget it.

I was considering it on the 71 since the brightwork isnt so great. One thing that would be cool with no drip rails is flush fit glass like the late models have. It would give it a very smooth appearance, but I think it would look better on the "Boat sized" 71-73, they dont have so many sharp angles on them.

Fixing the rust might be easier, most of the area is covered with the shiny trim. If you delete them you will have compound curves to shape and sand so it looks right. Then also the window will have nothing holding the seal on the top, so that would be the other thing you have to work out.

Im not even close to the primer/filler/sanding stage yet, so I have some time to figure out if I like the idea. I was planning on blacking out the rest of the brightwork, but that might be too much of one color. Needs something to break it up or it will look like a turd on cool wheels, no matter what color it is.
