Thanks ! She's pretty tolerant of my habit/hobby. But then again she gets a nice toy now and again as well. I bought her a one owner , low mile , supercharged , 1991 Thunderbird Super Coupe a few years back. Red of course with black interior. I'm afraid her Mustang is going to cost me more than the SC did though. I guess it all reverts back to the law of supply and demand ! Dean

OK!!! I am back removed the valve covers and saw the slotted push rods and the screw in studs....I did NOT see any casting numbers...I looked under BOTH valve covers....I did see the where the spring seat were deeper than normal....

Oh and I did check to see if there was a switch for the GT fog lights and there was one... the original color was red on red.....

I still need to pull the oil pan to see the 3/8 inch rod bolts and the thick hipo caps.....then pull the passenger fender and find the vin number there as well......

If all this checks out I think I have a GT K code fastback!!!!

What do yall think???
The price ended up being $6100.00 instead of 6,000.00 because he had a bunch of new parts for the car..

Well what do yall think???? Have I got a winner??

I think they would be on the underside of the heads, thats likely why you couldnt see them.

OK guys...I peek under the passenger fender last night to check the vin number there as well and what do you know...It matches the "T" vin number on the other Aprin as well......I don't know at this point all the signs point to a HiPo GT car...I pulled the valve covers on the thing before I bought it...they ARE HiPo heads...I guess the last thing would be to pull the oil pan and hav e peek under there....that will tell the story.....I guess you would say that would be the last straw for it to be a hipo

If I pull the oil pan and find the bearing caps amd 3/8 inch rod bolts...do you think I sould have both aprins changed over to the K vin number?

I'm not sure what to think here yet. Though the fact that he was trying to convince you the T code on the apron VIN was put there accidentally after the car got hit on that side makes me wonder. Either way you still got a good deal it sounds like, and from what you have said of the engine it appears that it could be a HiPo even if the car was not originally.

did you get it titled and registered in your name yet?
