Glad to see that there's another big body Mustang lover out there ! As the early cars dry up the 71-73 seems to be gaining in popularity. Having just spent the last couple of years restoring mine I have become very familiar with which parts suppliers offer the best parts for this generation of pony cars. Let me know if I can be of any help. Good luck, Dean

thanks again for the checking out my ride. T455 note well taken, i have been tempted to put the lights back on and driver her to my local sat nite cruise here but deiced to get it done then enjoy, knowing me i'd wait and then it would be another 10 yrs till paint.

jes: i got the number from a fellow member of my mustang club i belong to. its 1-800-392-3673 you have to listen to push this push that..but you end up to a live person and they take your info down and tell you someone will contact you in 3 business days and they will confirm your info and get an addy to send it out to...then in 6 weeks youll get info. i also have the mailing address that came on my letter:

Kent Ma

PO Box 6248
Dearborn, Michagan 48126

Dean: sweet ride man! appreciate the offer for info. any chance that you may know of where to get the chrome for the fold down seats? mine has some issues and debating on to sand it down and primer it and paint it black or search for better stuff.(not sure but isnt it the same fold down stuff for tearleier m-stangs?)
also where may i find a mach -1 grill? my wife and i are going to the ford nationals in carlisle PA the end of the month and hope to find some stuff too.

again thanks

james

James, I think your best bet on the chrome would be a replating. I had a lot of my original pieces replated as needed and it was well worth the money spent. With respect to the grill......... they were available from Ford until about 5 years ago. I think I gave somewhere about 80.00 for mine. They are now obsolete but many of the bigger parts suppliers have some NOS units available. I'd expect to spend upwards of 200.00 though. The stainless trim around the grill and the clips are available repro. Thanks for the compliment and good luck. Dean

Glad to hear that you've got it in color. I'll look for a 73 grille for you. I've still got the one that I took out of my car but as I recall it's got a crack. If you're interested in it I'll pull it out of the attic and check it over for you. The grille is the only thing unique to the Mach 1. The headlight doors and the turn signals are the same as any other 73 Mustang. Let me know, Dean

I hope you know that you are required to have someone take pictures of you taking off for the maiden voyage.
