73 SR, yea i need to get on forum more...though i do stealth here and drool over the cars wishing mine was finished (almost). my first car ever was a 71 sports roof, then i stumbled upon the mach1 for 2600$ and bought it in 86, then drove it through college years...took out motor during divorce as well as wheels, put motor back in after divorce and drove it a little..then it sat for a few years (which it really went to heck) then got married again and wife took interest in cars, then built a detached garage and out fited it with welder compressor etc and started the build...and here it is. =)

I bought mine in '94 for $3500. It had just been painted. A friend of mine told me about it, he said it was a '73 Boss 351. I told him they didn't make a Boss that year and he said that it said it on the car. I said let's go see it and when we came around the corner I was in love.

After owning it for a while I found that the previous owners were poor mechanics. They said they put a cam in it. The engine never had a lot of power and the cam went flat by '97. The paint is only 1 coat of primer and 1 coat of paint. Weather has taken it's toll on it. I got it running again in '99 and lost a rod bearing. It sat until '04 and I pulled it in the garage and did the interior. Sat for a few years and here we are. It is time to get it going.

Have fun this weekend with the Mach, hope I can do the same next weekend.

Did you get your door panels ordered yet? My wifes Trans Am power steering leaked bad and I got some stuff from Walmart and tried it. I figured as bad as it leaked it was worth a try. That was 5 years ago and it hasn't leaked since. I think it was called No Leak. They have it for engine, trans, and power steering.

73sr, ill try the no leak stuff, not sure if it will work though for my leak is coming from the top of gear box were steering shaft goes through, which brings me to the bad news of i didnt get her out lastnite to car crusier gathering .....but iam going to try and order the gear box this week..its like 188$ at autozone. but i did get to take her around the block for a spin (but no pics) good luck on your voyage next week!

i also will be ordering the door panels next month, i figured with the little stuff and panels i have roughly 900$ more to go and its finished (unless more leaks develop elsewhere..lol)

the wife is pushing for this to get done too....she is itching for a 67 fastback which iam considering also...http://www.dynacornclassicbodies.com/ford_models.html is the way iam going, just got to find a 67 for parts. though i did find cutting and welding panels out fun.

alsohas anyone rebuilt a steering gear box with power steering?
