converting column shift to floor?
I have a c4/c6 automatic in my 66 truck, and I want to put it into the mustang, only problem is, the mustang came with a standard so it has a hole in the floor, and the tranny is column shift in the truck.
I was hoping I could get the hurst shifter that is sold at Advance Auto parts and hook it up, would that work? or what would I need to do if thats not it?

You could probably just get a shifter cable if you don't have one already. Then, you just get a new shifter and run the cable from the tranny to the shifter, that's what we did with my car. Tell me if it's not that easy, cuz if it's not, I'll just go stand in the corner with a dunce cap.

The tranny will work, but you'll need to aquire the shift arm for the Mustang to go to the tranny. Also, I believe the NSS will be needed for the Mustang. What year Mustang? The hole in the floor is there because all Mustangs werer floor shifted. There are also considerations to take into account:driveshaft yoke, radiator cooler and lines, torque converter and flexplate, driveshaft length. Good Luck and keep us posted.
