Im running a pertronix ignitor igntition system and pertronix flame thrower coil thru accel 8mm wires to Autolite platinums on my 289. With this system how much should i gap the plugs?

about .045, or maybe even .050. Thats where mine are.

I am running MSD with 8.8mm accel wired and my gap is .065, and it runs great.

The more you gap them, the faster the plugs burn out. There is a point on mine where I figured that 0.040 was just about right for performance, but not too much. Others in the past have claimed that 0.035 or so gives them the same performance as a wider gap. I would try about 0.040 - 0.045 as a starting point and see how it performs.
