Default Got a question on my headers that came today...

The passenger side collector looks a bit strange.. These are Doug's Try "Y" Headers and they NICE. Just wondering why the collector is on an angle like that.. There seems to be allot of room in that area by the tranny so, not sure why it would be like that.

Anyone ever get a set of shorty headers for an auto that look like this?

Why are the collector flanges welded on? They must have a specific application in mind is my guess. I'd give them a call.

Every header I have seen had the flanges welded on, good ones anyway..

Yeah, I agree that the flanges should be welded on when you get them. You need to install those headers, then take your car to a muffler shop to get the pipes installed for that strange angle. JB shorties don't have that angle on the passenger's side.

Yea, I think when I get my 289 back and have it mounted to the AOD, I'm going to test fit these and if needed, then heat them and bend them they way they should be. Strange thing is, these were designed for a 289 with a C4 (should work fine with an AOD)..
