I'll try and sell a few more pints of blood to just get the whole lot, I think about a pint a day will get me there before June.

Once I get it all installed I will post some pics and the story of how much it makes things better. Thanks everyone for your 2 cents.

Who you with usmcdevilmp?

OK, timing is everything in life. I ran into a guy tonight who just rebuilt his 66 fastback with pretty much the exact setup I am planning on doing (roller perches, adjustable strut rods, 620 coils, etc.) One bit of advice he tossed my way was about his disc brakes. He bought a front Granada kit similar to ones offered by CSRP, and got the rear converted to disc also. With the way he drives, he feels they were not as good as he hoped for $1300 and suggesting puttting my money in the better front end/suspension parts and going with a power kit for the drums vs discs. I found a power drum kit for $340 and that will free up some cash for the better suspension items. What do you guys think about this? I know discs are all the rage, but would a power drum setup do for regular steet driving with occasional high speed runs when appropriate.

Well, the granada swap kit is no high performance system. It is pretty much a stock braking system. You will see major improvements with braking but not like a baers kit. Why would you want to keep drums? So they lock up on you? IMO that is a major mistake.

manual discs are way better than power drums. I would go with the conversion. IMO.

I have no complaints with my Granada brakes at the track.
Work quite well with the right pads.

Sure, 13" Baer brakes are going to stop even better but cost a lot more and require larger heavier 17" rims.
Plus they increase unsprung weight, an evil I always try to avoid

Power drum or disc brakes are more important with automatic transmissions. My manual drum/4-speed combo is just fine on my '66 A-code convert.

a brake upgrade, no matter the cost is always a good thing. even if it's just a front conversion. IMO stopping power is WAAYYY better than HP anyday.
